Ink Storm, the fascinating graduation project of Marc van Gennip…
“INK STORM is a research of bleeding ink into prints.By interrupting the process by hand, a storm of ink will be released within the prints. This then transforms from being static and geometric into dramatic and organic. The Storms are controllable, but once released they will go their own way.
Every storm has it’s own spontaneous colournuances and shapes”
A really great work of research which will surely show a new way forward to textile prints enhancement and such a poetical way to emphasize how beautiful randomness can be!

I love Marloes ten Bhömer’s shoes, they seem to come straight from the future, with their uncommon architecture-like structure…
“If the key commandment of glamorous, upscale shoe design for women is to amplify and exaggerate the curves of the human foot, ten Bhömer’s shoes are riotous and sensuous sinners” (Shumon Basar, design and architecture critic)
If you wish to see them closely, they will be exhibited at Jerwood Contemporary Makers, 17 June – 25 July 2010 , Jerwood Space, London

S1ngletown is one of the most interesting projects I saw at the 11th Venice Biennale Architecture…
” More and more, we live by ourselves. Traditional social networks of family and clan have given way to temporary and negotiated ones, and even friendships are fluid and often exist outside of physical space. By 2006, a third of all of us in developed and developing countries will be living alone. How can we be at home in the modern world? the Dutch collective Droog Design, in collaboration with the advertising farm Kesselkramer, has collaborated to create a prototype community for singles. “S1ngletown” is an abstract representation of an urban space consisting of the cocoons, implements, connective technologies, and wearable signs singles nees in order to inhabit our atomized environment. It is a network of solitary nodes in a spatial network architects, designers and artists must weave in order to create a social alternative to a landscape of alienated individuals and static objects”

Smart, ironic, fresh… the DINO clothes rack by Kayiwa OI…
“DINO is aesthetic and fully functional for coats and jackets or adults and children owing to the differently sized hangers.
For public places, coat checking is easier and neat with the numbered hangers. In addition, the cartilage and ample space reduce friction and allow the independent movement of the hanger(s).”

Marta Rampazzo and Nicola Genovese came up with the idea of K-boards, vintage key jewels after seeing abandoned vintage, colorful keyboards in a dumping ground. No longer used functions, shapes and wordings gave those keys a particular charme.
The consciousness of the rareness of those pieces joined together with the idea of giving a new life to objects otherwhise abandoned soon became a concrete project.
Now the k-boards rings and pins are available online, and you can chose among a wide variety of keys the one which better fits you and your mood, and then place the order…
