Ink Storm, the fascinating graduation project of Marc van Gennip…
“INK STORM is a research of bleeding ink into prints.By interrupting the process by hand, a storm of ink will be released within the prints. This then transforms from being static and geometric into dramatic and organic. The Storms are controllable, but once released they will go their own way.
Every storm has it’s own spontaneous colournuances and shapes”
A really great work of research which will surely show a new way forward to textile prints enhancement and such a poetical way to emphasize how beautiful randomness can be!

Il sistema degli oggetti (The name, as the philosophy of the brand, is taken from Baudrillard’s book The system of objects) is an upcoming Italian brand which recently presented its SS11 men collection at Pitti in Florence. A great attention to details and materials, a work of research on clothing archetypes, mixed with good cuts characterize these garments which give to classic icons (such as parkas) a new taste.

I love Marloes ten Bhömer’s shoes, they seem to come straight from the future, with their uncommon architecture-like structure…
“If the key commandment of glamorous, upscale shoe design for women is to amplify and exaggerate the curves of the human foot, ten Bhömer’s shoes are riotous and sensuous sinners” (Shumon Basar, design and architecture critic)
If you wish to see them closely, they will be exhibited at Jerwood Contemporary Makers, 17 June – 25 July 2010 , Jerwood Space, London

The leading idea behind CellulaZ, a project by Roberto Zanon and Gaia Zebellin, is about creating a collection which can switch from home decor to body ornament, taking advance of wax and ceramic characteristics, both physical and poetic.
We can trace histories of familiar objects which assume a new meaning, included and melted into an organic ceramic shape, enclosed itself in a ephemeral wax box, as you may decide to keep it or even to light it ’til it completely dissipates.
Garbage couture, contemporary jewellery, hybrid decor, massive and ephemeral at the same time, and last but not least… gorgeous!

Charlotte Daffern’s creations…
“…My investigations inform new enquiries which develop my progression and understanding of the world around me. I enjoy the juxtaposition of various elements and concepts that compliment and contradict each other such as irreverence with sophistication and exorbitance with rebellion. This results in an equivocality that spans a range of discourse subject matters relating to gender, fashion, sociology, culture and history.”

“Don’t say it, read it.
Watch it, feel it.
React.
Without speech, a mood, a reaction, an emotion, can be understood. My work demonstrates this physical communication.
